Doing Good is a Passion

​At Redwood Financial Strategies, we believe that being part of a community means actively giving
back. Our founder, Mike Reisel, has been involved with the Scherrer Cares Buddy Bench program
since its inception and currently serves on its Board of Directors.

The Scherrer Cares Buddy Bench program supports schools in their anti-bullying efforts by
partnering with K–12 schools to provide Buddy Benches—safe spaces where children can connect
and build friendships. Through fundraising and community support, Scherrer Cares has installed
over 75 Buddy Benches across Wisconsin, positively impacting more than 100,000 students.

A Buddy Bench:

• Provides a safe place for kids to combat loneliness and build friendships.
• Promotes awareness, involvement, and a positive school culture.
• Empowers young people to make socially responsible decisions and inspire change.

Mike is passionate about the program’s positive message and enjoys witnessing its immediate
impact in his community, including at his own children’s previous elementary school. Its reach
extends beyond the local level—former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan has even recognized the
program’s meaningful work.

​Mike had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at a Milwaukee Brewers game on behalf of the Scherrer Cares Buddy Bench program. He loved celebrating such a meaningful cause in a fun, memorable way!
